Demonology Warlock Raid Build 0/31/10

One of the best things about reaching level 85 is the end-game raid content. However, actually getting into a raid group won’t be easy if the raid leader checks out your talent tree and sees that it’s been built wrong. Or worse, you might get into a raid group only to be kicked out when the damage meters show that you aren’t holding your own in DPS.

If you want to do as much damage as possible you need to put your talent points in the right places and you have to know which spells to use and when to use them. The following information will make sure that you aren’t accused of being a “noob” and that you get the respect you deserve during your raiding adventures.

Demonology Warlock Raid Build

A level 85 demonology warlock who is serious about raiding should have their talent points spent as follows:

Demonology:

  • 3 Points in Dark Arts
  • 2 Points in Fel Synergy
  • 2 Points in Demonic Rebirth
  • 2 Points in Mana Feed
  • 2 Points in Demonic Aegis
  • 2 Points in Master Summoner
  • 3 Points in Impending Doom
  • 3 Points in Molten Core
  • 1 Point in Hand of Gul’dan
  • 2 Points in Aura of Foreboding
  • 2 Points in Ancient Grimoire
  • 1 Point in Inferno
  • 2 Points in Decimation
  • 2 Points in Cremation
  • 1 Point in Demonic Pact
  • 1 Point in Metamorphosis

Destruction

  • 3 Points in Bane
  • 3 Points in Shadow and Flame
  • 2 Points in Improved Immolate
  • 2 Points in Emberstorm

Spell Rotation

Once you have your talent tree built, you will need to understand the proper spell rotation for your particular build. However, before you begin getting into battles with mobs or casting any spells you need to make sure your buffs are up. All warlock specs are now given the Soul Link buff, so make sure that Soul Link and Fel Armor are active before you begin a fight.

When fighting in a group, you also want to cast Dark Intent on another player. Most raid leaders prefer that the warlocks in their raid cast DI on one of the raid healers. However, you should double-check with the raid leader regarding which player he or she wants Dark Intent to be cast upon.

Once your buffs are up and your DI spell is active on the proper party, you’re ready to raid.

When hitting a multiple mobs your spell rotation will be as follows:

  • Bane of Havoc
  • Seed of Corruption
  • Continue to Cast Seed of Corruption on the mob in focus.

On single-target fights your spell rotation will be a little different. When focusing on a single target you will need to cast:

  • Improved Soul Fire (if target is above 80 percent health)
  • Metamorphosis
  • Demon Soul
  • Immolate
  • Hand of Gul’dan
  • Bane of Doom
  • Immolation Auro
    • Corruption
    • Shadowflame
    • Incinerate (if Molten Core is up)
    • Soul Fire (if Decimation is up)
    • Shadow Bolt

By building your talent tree according to the outline above and using the proper spell rotation, you will notice a significant increase in the amount of damage that you deal and you are likely to be welcome in most end-game raid groups.
